Seriously? You've got to be kidding me!
At this point I have no other words to say to my husband who has come down with his second "Man Cold" of the year. Yesterday I was enlightened with his constant need of tissues -- and today -- well, he's officially...
OUT. OF. COMMISSION.
As a woman, and a mother, this is just simply not an option I have! How is THAT fair? He can take two, maybe eight or nine days to nurse his sniffles but heaven forbid I slow down my roll when running 103+ degree fever with mastitis after giving birth to my daughter 4 weeks prior! I vaguely remember hearing the phrase -- "It can't be that bad. Quit milking it." It's these type of dumb-ass comments that I'll remind him of if I'm ever asked about my lacking sympathy -- which I'm coincidentally not asked.
Side note: If you've never had mastitis or been witness to someone who has, IT'S HORRIBLE. None-the-less this is clearly not about me so let's just move on...
The "Man Cold" has baffled me for years. What makes the cold that they get SOOOO much worse than the cold we, as women, get? I remember hubby had a bad case of strep throat a few years ago and had to go get a steroid shot at the ER to knock it out of him after he was incapacitated for 5...YES 5...days. Come on dude, it's strep throat.
So...as I tend to my man cold infested hubby and bite my tongue while fetching his soup and tissues while 8 months pregnant, I ask for you all to send your thoughts my way today. In the meantime, enjoy this rendition of what will surely be my daily hell for the upcoming few days...
